Option 1: Take Attendance from the Session Assignment Report #
If your students are assigned to set session days and times, this is usually the easiest and most accurate place to take attendance.
How to get there:
- Expand Reports
- Click Session Assignment
By default, this report shows:
- Each student
- Their assigned days of the week
- Their assigned session times
Recording attendance:
- Click the green check for Present
- Click the yellow dash for Canceled
- Click the red “X” for No Call/No Show
These buttons record both the attendance date and the session time shown.
Recording an arrival time (optional):
- Click the green clock icon to record a Present attendance at the exact time a student arrived
- This is helpful if you want to capture specific times for late arrivals
Canceled sessions and makeup credits:
- When you mark a session as Canceled, you’ll be asked if the student should earn a makeup session
- Click Yes to add a makeup session to their bank
- Click No if they should not receive one
Option 2: Take Attendance from the Student Grid #
The student grid is a fast way to take attendance, especially when checking in students as they arrive.
What to know:
- Attendance is recorded for today’s date only
- A session time is not recorded from this view
How it works:
Click quickly down the list to record each student
- Click the green check for Present
- Click the yellow dash for Canceled
- Click the red “X” for No Call/No Show
- Click the blue arrow clock icon to record a Make Up attendance at the exact time a student arrived
Finding a student fast:
- Type part of the student’s name in the search field
- Click their attendance status once they appear
Option 3: Record Past Attendance Using Bulk Attendance #
If you forgot to take attendance earlier or need to update multiple students at once, use Bulk Attendance.
Steps:
- In the student grid, check the box next to each student
- Click Bulk Attendance
- Select:
- The date
- The time
- The attendance type
- Click Set
Important note:
When using bulk attendance, you will not be prompted to award makeup sessions.
Option 4: Take Attendance Inside a Student Record #
You can also manage attendance directly within a student’s profile.
Steps:
- Open a student record
- Expand Attendance
- Use the stoplight buttons to add attendance
- Click Attendance History to:
- Edit past attendance
- Add new attendance entries
This option is helpful when reviewing or correcting a single student’s history.
